At the moment we do not offer financing.

9 / Are the kayaks self-draining?

All Galaxy Kayaks are self-draining and this is an important point to consider when buying a Sit-On-Top kayak.

The kayaks have several drainage points which come equipped with rubber "scupper" plugs. These plugs are always left in, unless you are purposely allowing water to flow through the kayak, i.e.; when surfing waves with it.

Should unwanted water enter whilst kayaking you simply remove the plugs from the affected area, paddle ahead and pick up some speed. This inertia creates suction and withdraws the water.

Once it is empty, replace the plug.

10 / Are the Kayaks Sit on top? What's a sit on top kayak?

If you look into the world of traditional sit-in kayaks/canoes you’ll discover a lot of unnecessary burdens and obstacles preventing a straight-forward comfortable ride on the water. However, these days there are plenty of options for the recreational rower; one of them being the sit-on-top kayak.

DESIGN: Sit-on-top kayaks have a similar hull and shape and share many of the benefits of traditional canoes, but rather than sitting inside the kayak, you sit on a molded seat depressed into the top. Some are made of fiberglass, but most are made of durable Polyethylene using the "Rotomolding" system.

VERSATILITY: There are sit-on-top kayaks designed for fishing, surfing, travelling, scuba diving and more. Some have specialized designs, but most sit-on-tops are created for multiple use with recreational users or beginners in mind.

COMFORT: Sit-on-top kayaks have many advantages over canoes, one of them being comfort. Paddlers with large bodies, long legs, or limited flexibility, may feel less restricted using a sit-on-top kayak.

SAFETY: One of the biggest benefits is the ease of making a self-rescue. Having an open deck rather than closed leaves less risk of being caught in the boat should it capsize. With a sit-on-top kayak there is no need to practice "Eskimo rolls" or "wet exits" making them an attractive vessel for beginners.

Sit-on-tops are fun and a great way to enjoy kayaking

So grab an oar and set off on your very own Galaxy!

11 / Are the kayaks rotomolded?

Yes all kayaks are made of polyethylene of 4.5 to 5 mm thick and use the Rotomolding system. This means that the kayak is molded in one piece which makes it much more robust.

12 / Navigate Safely in Kayaks

The practice of kayaking as with any water sport is high-risk. It is very important to know all the safety regulations before heading out on a kayak.
Galaxy Kayaks is not responsible at any time for your safety. We ask you to take out the maximum prudence, respect for the environment and the forces of nature.

Here you have 10 simple rules to help you be more confident and safe in the water:

Never go alone
Never go without a lifejacket
Never leave without checking all the equipment
Never go out in dangerous conditions
Never leave without checking the weather conditions
Always tell friends and family where you are going and for how long

Always bring a mobile phone neatly stored in a waterproof bag
Always bring a radio with you to communicate with fellow tour companions.
Always bring all the necessary safety equipment: knife, flashlight, whistle etc.

Kayaking is a very healthy and fun sport. It is a way to get in shape easily while enjoying nature at the same time.

You can experience the most beautiful views and enjoy the deepest calm. You can fish the unexpected or surf waves you never imagined. But more than anything kayaking is a great way to enjoy life without harming the planet.
