We have already talked about the difference between the Galaxy Kayaks guys and today we are going to talk about a fairly recurring question among those who are thinking of buying a large kayak Galaxy Kayaks: What are the differences between the Galaxy Alboran and the Galaxy Marlin? The two kayaks are super sales of Galaxy Kayaks and the comments of our customers are positive for both models. However, the choice will depend on the characteristics that each fisherman seeks for their kayak. Let's talk about some basic points.

Galaxy Alborán vs Galaxy Marlin: Dimensions

The two high-end models of Galaxy Kayaks have more than 4 meters. The Galaxy Marlin is a bit narrower than the Alboran Galaxy and a bit lower. If we add to these factors the hydrodynamic design of the Galaxy Marlin with its high keel and greater contact area with the surface of the water, we understand why the Galaxy Marlin is faster than the Galaxy Alborán

Galaxy Marlin
Length: 438 cm
Width: 73 cm
High: 38

Galaxy Alboran
Length: 409 cm
Width: 78 cm
Height: 40 cm

Galaxy Alborán vs Galaxy Marlin: Seats

The Galaxy Alborán comes standard with the low seat. However, it is possible to adapt the high chair of the Galaxy Marlin, or the Tandem Vista, as you can see in this other post. The Galaxy Marlin comes with a high standard seat, but it is possible, without any adaptation, to place the seat low, providing more stability but subtracting comfort. The differences between the use of the high or low seat will depend on the taste of each fisherman. You can see more information about the difference in the height of the seats in this other blog.

Galaxy Alborán vs Galaxy Marlin: Accessories

Both the Galaxy Alborán and the Galaxy Marlin come equipped with standard accessories. The Alboran Galaxy, in addition to the central rodman, comes with 4 sausages and cleats as standard. In its central hatch it has a nursery for live bait. In its original version, the Alborán comes with 6 inserts for the installation of Railblaza accessories without the need to drill the kayak. It also comes with a central hatch, preformed area for the probe transducer in its hull and rudder as standard

The Galaxy Marlin is not far behind. It also comes with a central revolving rod and with two recessed rods behind the seat. In its reversible center console, you can store an infinity of rigging, scissors, threads ete, but it is not a nursery as in the Alboran Galaxy, however, with the installation of an oxygenator, you could turn it into one. The Galaxy Marlin also comes with inserts for Railblaza supports, but on its side it has no option of series. We present a factory where you can add rails on the side of the Galaxy Marlin, thus offering many more options to equip it. The Galaxy Marlin comes with a large central console with 360º rotation where you can install the probe and we can turn and save it when it comes to possible tipping or rough seas. This kayak also has as standard the zone for installation of the transducer in its hull as well as the rudder.
