Hand in hand with Galaxy kayaks, Fishing With the Pro is the name given to the series of events carried out by its staff around the peninsular territory. This idea was born with the sole purpose of offering free, start the world of kayaking and fishing in kayak to all those fans, novice or with little experience, from the hand of experienced colleagues who will reveal all the secrets and offer all their knowledge about such an exciting hobby.

Thus, the first event was held in Estepona by Fran. In a second event, recently, it was held in Mataró at the hands of Joan Torre who, at the moment, dedicates these lines to you.
How to know where and when the next events of this new format will take place, is as simple as staying tuned and checking the social networks available to Galaxy, both on Facebook and Instagram, as well as on its website.

Let's break down, if you have not yet seen the video of this second event, the organization and development of it.

In this section you can appreciate the idea and format of these events.

Our crack Joan Torre of the Fishing Team Galaxy Spain will be waiting for you between 10am and 1pm. Approach the time you can within the defined time slot. The idea is to make individual talks with each participant so they can try and learn a little more about the Alboran Galaxy and the fishing techniques from kayak.

Objective:

Have autonomy and safety, to practice outings in kayak and enjoy it to the fullest. Learn what is necessary to know how to choose a kayak and equipment, ideal for your needs and customize it.

Theoretical / practical concepts:

They will learn how to get comfortable in the kayak, so that you will be comfortable and efficiently paddle.

They will learn how to handle the kayak, so that you are the one who commands the kayak and not the other way around.

They will learn to enter and leave safely from the beach and most importantly, how to act in the event of a rollover and how to get back on the kayak. This is super important since all of us who practice sports on a kayak will turn over at some point and we have to know how to react.

They will learn to differentiate the types of kayaks.

Basic techniques of propulsion shovels.

Basic techniques of driving strokes.

Basic rudder handling techniques.

Basics of navigation.

Knowledge of basic equipment for kayakers, security, navigation.

Location of the event;

The choice of place was not by chance at random; beach with access ramp, where bathing is strictly prohibited even if the area declared entry and exit of boats is not respected.
It is a beach adjacent to the port of Mataro, protected by the jetty of the same port and another side. This makes it a very good option for the realization of the event; quiet beach, with good access and ideal conditions for entry and exit by kayak.

Knowing the place and the null respect to the signs that prohibit the bathing in its waters, at the very first hour I had of oars, cones and t-shirts of Galaxy to assure a minimum perimeter of security to carry out the event. Although, in fact, the beach was full of bathers, I must say that the event was a success and the bathers not only respected the realization of this, but some of them ended up participating.

About the established time, the first participants appeared, even in their own kayaks to be advised and ask all the doubts that this practice aroused.

Believe me that there is little more rewarding than being able to help everyone who came to solve doubts, remove fears or simply improve the paleo technique with simple tricks.

There was also, of course, the issue of kayak fishing, materials and techniques to be used in the area and that, very gladly, we share in the same event.

As you observed in the section of the format, basic and primordial topics were discussed, such as propulsion and steering techniques, such as the loading and unloading of the kayak, or the main accessories and the obligations and rules of kayak practice in our waters. Of the most fun without doubt was to be able to practice with all of them the techniques of boarding the kayak in the event of a rollover.

We were lucky to have participants of all levels and ages, which allowed us to enjoy an unforgettable and very rewarding experience.

Regarding the more technical aspects, which can be seen in the aforementioned summary video, we advise you how to take the paddle, how to perform the propulsion and direction steering, helping us with the rudder that comes standard in our Alboran, like grabbing the kayak in case of rollover to avoid throwing the kayak on us making the least possible effort, among the proposed themes in the format of the event.

Personalized talks followed each other in order of arrival, although there were participants and the local bathers on the spot. Once the main doubts were clarified and the most basic advice exposed, we literally launched ourselves into the water with the participants to accompany them during the practical exercises.

Luckily for me, I had a great friend who not only recorded and photographed key moments of the event, but also supported me and also solved doubts and questions of the new participants who arrived while doing the exercises. It is basic, as in all our outings, to go well accompanied. Thanks Ismael.

We were surprised by the number of bathers and curious people who joined the event and enjoyed paddling on board our Alboran throughout the event, making it impossible to meet the schedule. Before so much illusion impossible to refuse to throw itself again to the water.

Priceless, fantastic, eager to repeat, enriching, fascinating, rewarding ... a success. Very positive feelings before, during and after the realization of this Fishing With the Pro, and it is not about whether it is a pro or not, who offers to help and lend the kayak to some complete strangers, it is the effort and the illusion of a brand to bring its products to all audiences, of all levels and ages, to be able to have a guided experience in this more than exciting world of kayaking.
