Name: Juan Jose Sanjaime Fernandez

Age: 50

Where are you from? Gandia - Valencia

Nickname: SANJAIME

Any blog that writes or social media?

//sanjaimekayak.blogspot.com.es/

What kayaks do you use? Alboran Galaxy Kayaks

When did fishing begin and how did you get involved in that?

Well, when I was born in the Grao de Gandia fishing zone, you told me, I was more in the salt water than in the street, with which the poison of fishing runs through my veins since I was born.

Soon after with the family we have been changing the variety in fishing, surfcasting, corcheo, spining. Until the poison came from the hand of my son Sanjaime90 who started in the world of kayaking because I did not trust him to go alone to the sea.

How long have you been fishing from a kayak?

We will be around 4 years old before knowing my fellow APK and we were (lost but we were) in the mess of kayak fishing.

Tell us about your most memorable fishing experience:

The most memorable experience is not mine, because who knows me knows how altruistic I am in this world, that is to say that I am more glad that my partner catches before me. This experience was in an exit that several members of APK by Cabo de las Huertas came out (some will be smiling), that day the activity was bestial, but I was suffering because Comrade Saoro had just bought a kayak to advise and was not yet very safe in the, suddenly doing trolling is heard by the station, BONITOOOOOOO AND IS VERY FAT NOT CAN SUBIRRRR, all this crying of emotion and holding the cane, all the companions went to help him and with great applause he raised his Nice first to the kayak. (I will not forget it in life).

Do you have favorite places to fish?

I usually leave by the Gola de Guardamar del Segura, it is a place with enough parking, and good exit and entry to the sea without risk of falling.

What type of fishing do you prefer?

I practice almost all of them, although the one I pay less attention to is chambel, I am more curri, jiging and spining.

Do you have some preferred brands of fishing gear? (rod, reel, decoy, etc.)? because the reeds that I use are the Cinnetic Explorer UL Inshore 190, I have two and very versatile luxury. On reels I have an okuma, a shimano siena and the last addition the Daiwa GS9.

What's in your decoy box now?

Well, my box of decoys is something crazy, because I think that like everyone who enters this sport we start to buy and do not advise us or we do not know someone who tells us the 4 aces of lures, jigs, etc. not to carry a box saturated with lures from which you only take 2 or 3.

Which fish do you like the most?

No doubt at the moment the pretty or listed, for its battle and nerve, but I must say that I still have some outstanding species in my book of blogs.

What advice would you give someone new to kayak fishing?

The first advice would be to listen to the comrades who already have salt on their skin, as none will advise you badly.

The second would be that the first exits were made without rods and made to his mount.

And then, little by little, try different modalities until you have the one you like best.

If I could fish anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I would like in any of those paradises that you see on television that are plagued by fish although I would only capture and release as usual, but in reality anywhere on the planet with salt water.

What would be your 5 tips for fishing?

1º Be yourself both on land and in fishing.

2nd Surround yourself with people who appreciate you not for what you are but for what you are.

3 º If you can salt with your child fishing and the enjoyment is double because if you fish you will be happy, but if you fish he / she will be more

4th Do not fish for agony, that is, you can enjoy many catches but return those that are not going to be consumed.

5º This is the advice that I like the most and also the tattoo of a great companion Eric Vaca (VACA)

AHY DAYS OF FISHING, STORIES AND FRIENDS, this tattoo I think defines everything I am.
