TRANSPORT KAYAKS WITH SAFETY, BY FRAN THE BEST.
Hello fellow kayakers, I'm Fran The best member of the GALAXY KAYAK fishing team and today I want to talk about something that will undoubtedly have happened more than once when we are transporting our kayak.
Transporting our kayak in our car, on our roof rack is something that we love, when we go to explore new fishing boats, we go to an Open to compete or on vacation. I personally have already spent many years and miles with my kayak on the car, and this is why I can give you good advice.
Today there are many systems and products that facilitate and ensure the transport of our kayaks in our cars, but I still see the kayak out there directly on the roof, tie it up and forward!
About 6 years ago when I started doing it until one day I moved to return from a day of fishing and in the middle of a motorway to make a curve I completely crossed the kayak on the car and saw how the bow came out the side of the driver's window, imagine the shock ... !. I was able to stop and I was amazed at how easy it is to move a kayak on a rooftop even when it is well tied. It could have been much worse, I assure you!
Do not play it, since your safety and that of other vehicles are at stake. Did not it ever happen to your head what would happen if while you drive you loose your kayak and fall? . Put yourself in the skin of the back car, fantasize about the festival that you would provoke in a highway, The kayaks placed in the roof, offer a great aerodynamic resistance. If, for whatever reason, they move or move to one side, that resistance increases. That can be the beginning of disaster, where the force is so great that the bars of their anchors to the car are pulled. This is more frequent than you think, insurance may not take over and we would destroy our kayak at best. Well, now that we have put ourselves in a situation we are going to see some elements that will easily help us to go more safely in our outings.
First, put a good approved rack for your vehicle, our kayaks are delicate, and the choice of transport accessories, influences to keep them and not damage them.
PROTECTIVE BARS FOR BACA:
The roof protector is the simplest way to transport your kayak safely and without damaging it. With this you can place the kayak directly on the roof, it is best to put the kayak upside down because it offers more contact surface and does not deform the helmet the special foam of the roof protector between the bar and the kayak achieves a better grip to avoid the dreaded displacement of the kayak and also not bother your kayak.

This is a very good and safe system to transport our kayaks. This roof for kayaks is designed to be placed on the bars of the horizontal roof rack. They are specially indicated to hold your sit on top kayak, and guarantee a perfect fit on the vehicle, minimizing the possibility of damage.
This roof rack for kayaks is very easy to install and comes in two parts that can be folded when not in use. The roof rack comes with two curved pieces of marine grade anodized aluminum that are joined with an adjustable support. The pegs of the support can be pushed to allow to place the support arms in different positions depending on the size of the kayak, or the desired inclination.
The arms can be folded completely when nothing is transported in the car. By maximizing space, it allows you to place more than one kayak on the roof of your car. You can place two of these racks in the car, one on each side, to be able to carry two kayaks comfortably.
The clamping arms are made of aluminum and covered with black neoprene foam, which holds the kayak without damaging it. The support is made of sturdy plastic and stainless steel screws.
This roof rack for kayaks comes with two metal mounting brackets that fit perfectly to the roof of the car with a tightening screw. The kayak roof rack also comes with two 4m tether straps with buckles to secure the kayak to the roof rack.
Well friends I hope that this publication will be helpful and above all we can be more secure in our outings. Until next time!
