WINDY WEEKEND, MAINTENANCE!

Hello kayakers, as you know in our hobby we depend a lot on the wind and sea state, that is why today I dedicate this post to the maintenance of our kayak, in order to take advantage of those days that we can not go fishing. The kayaks are very well prepared and made to last for many years, but with minimal maintenance they will always be in good condition.

If we want our kayak to remain as new, it is very important to carry out a series of maintenance actions for its conservation and always have it ready to go fishing at any time.

Once our fishing day is over it is very important to wash our kayak very well with fresh water, especially if its use has been in the sea, and if we spend a rag after that even better! , so we will eliminate all the remains of salt, sand, scales and any dirt. It is important to lubricate the metal parts with silicone spray, such as the rudder, cables, screws etc., even if it is made of stainless steel, so we avoid corrosion by electrolysis so powerful in salt water.

Normally, no water should enter inside the hull of our kayak, but it is true that sometimes especially when entering or leaving the water, it breaks with force some wave on our kayak and it is possible that some water enters, if so empty the rest of the stagnant water into the kayak and dry it very well leaving the drums open afterwards, to avoid moisture condensation, and the lash that this creates! We will also clean and lubricate well the plastic parts such as seats, hooks, elastic, handles, pedals, rudder, etc.

GUARDED:
It is clean and ready to store! Well, as you know it is advisable to do it indoors on a flat and solid base so that it does not deform, vertically, on the tip of it, so that we can access it comfortably.

ELEMENTS FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF OUR KAYAK:

Super important to lose a little while in making sure every time we go out that our cow is well attached, the straps with which we tie it are in good condition and do their job well. To the minimum doubt to replace, I do not know that for not spending a handful of Euros we drop the car kayak while we transport it and in addition to destroying it we cause a serious accident! "EYE WITH THIS."
